I love collecting old pin keeps but they are such a rare find these days. Today I am offering a set of Christmas themed pincushions inspired by some vintage ones from my own collection

I made the round pinkeep from some vintage green fabric and some faded Christmas Toile with a holly and berry pattern. It stands 10 1/2 inches tall as shown

I added some feather stitches in Christmas red, some jingle bells, a Merry Christmas tag and some pins and a spool wrapped with some more of the Christmas red thread

The base is glass and I used a combination of techniques to make it look and feel like a rusted surface ~ I tried to capture the texture in the pictures. It gives this piece character and the impression that this is a very old piece.

I have always wanted to make an Amish Puzzle Ball pincushion and this is my first attempt. I used the same holly berry Toile fabric and paired it with an old red cotton. I added feather stitching in green and used small rusty jingle bells to finish it and make it feel even more like Christmas. I added a small wood candle base for display. It can be removed if desired

These are Prim*by*Nature original creations
