Primitive Prairie Pioneer Folk Art Doll with Valentine Hearts

It is so good to be making primitives again for my collector friends. As some of you already know I have been having some major issues with my hands that required some major surgery. I was having some successful months last spring, but with too much over use I succeeded in holding back my recovery. It has been over 15 months since my last surgery and I believe I am finally as good as I am going to get at this point.

Up for your consideration is this adorable doll made from rag stuffed feed sack material. She is very hefty and has some extreme staining for that vintage aged look. She is wearing a dress of red checked cotton. Her apron and bonnet are made from some more feed sack material that is also stained and vintage looking.

I made her some hearts – 2 are from some striped coverlet material and one from some civil war inspired cotton. They are all rag stuffed and aged.

She would be a wonderful addition to your Valentine inspired prim collection. She is 23 inches tall head to toe. When sitting as shown she is 13 inches tall. One heart is 6 inches and the other two are 5 1/2 inches

I get loads of questions about pinning images from my site. I know my site has a copyright notice but feel free to pin as many pics as you like as long as they are still directed to my original content. I love seeing my creations on Pinterest – it just makes me want to create more and more

This is the end of my Valentine listings for this season. I will be back in February with some new Easter and Spring-time creations. If you follow my blog you will have access to advance notice before I list items on eBay. Thank you to all my faithful followers and thank you so much for all of your messages of support for my recovery. I feel so blessed.

Primitive Valentine Cheese Box Lamp

Tags

You know I had these red and white coverlets for years and I just did not want to cut them up until I really knew what to do with them. They were really not in any kind of good display condition as with many vintage fabrics I always knew I had no choice but to make some primitives out of them.

I do love this pretty primitive heart lamp. I made the hearts from the vintage coverlets and aged them for a more primitive look. They are sitting in a vintage larger size Borden cheese box.

I added a waxed flicker candle lamp (batteries included) and some Sweet Annie. As shown with hearts it is 15 inches wide, 8 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches deep. The box itself is 4 inches tall, 4 inches deep and 11 1/2 inches wide. This looked so pretty in one of my cupboards it also looked really nice in my kitchen window sill

Since this is made with vintage fabrics I will not be repeating this item

I was inspired to create this set with a pattern I got from Denise Jones. The kitty looks so prim especially with the wool heart applique. I love making sets like this so it becomes it’s own collection – just perfect for cupboards and shelves that need a little prim accent.

This adorable Valentine Kitty Cat made from rag stuffed feed sack material. She is painted black and aged for a grungy appearance. In addition to her hand appliqued heart made from a scrap of red wool her eyes are buttons and she has a scrap fabric nose.

Her mousie pal is made from some plush felt and is attached to a red and white cushion. The red rag ball is made from scraps of vintage red fabric. Cute collection for your favorite cupboard or shelf. The kitty is 11″ tall, mouse is 6″ wide and 3″ tall and the reg ball is 2″ in diameter. All sizes approximate.

Up for your consideration is this wonderfully prim Valentine Stocking made from stained and distressed feed sack material. I really did do some extreme aging to this primitive. It looks like it has been around for some time. Perfect for your vintage primitive farmhouse decor.

This stocking measures 26 inches tall including the hanger. The cherub is also made from aged and extremely worn feed sack. The stuffed and appliqued hearts are all made from old coverlets in differing patterns. The stocking is lightly stuffed to hold its shape. This is a wonderful addition to your primitive Winter/Valentine collection. The stocking is a Becky Erikson design
